Web top ten issues - Overview of the World Wide Web

The Internet is 30 million people all over the world communicating. Its
a culture.

An example of hypertext is when you are reading a document, a word stands
out and that word takes you to another part of the document. You can
follow the topic of your own interest.

The World Wide Web is hypertext documents on the computer.

A URL is an uniform resource locator which tells the computer where to
find a specific page. Hypertext mark-up language is the program in which
the web page is written. A hypertext link brings you to another URL

A Browser is a program which lets you look at web pages. Lynx is the
text mode browser. The graphical browser is Mosaic-Netscape (69% of users).

Computer mediated communication is creating a revolution.

Without links to other sites, the best web pages will have no value!

Global vs. local. If we have many links out to the world, that
Impact on Business, Government and Individuals: The Internet will enable
easy access to anything in the world. Convenience of communication will
require less transportation.
