Final Message to All

Dear Friends, we received this message from Missy's family and I am posting it completely. It is all quoted from their message:

The family wanted to include all Missy's extended family out there in some way into her memorial being held tomorrow afternoon.

The following are some of the things that will be said and we would appreciate it if you could openly share this note with everyone as we don't know how or have the time to put it up for others to read.

Melissa (Missy) will be having a small memorial service Sunday afternoon, June 8th where family members will each have their turn to speak and remember their fondest memories. The immediate family, Daniel, Anastasia and Melissa choose cremation as a means of not prolonging the ordeal for their daughter. Melissa's ashes will be disposed of at her favorite place late tomorrow and the family will remain until Chicago skylight shines it's lights.

The family would like everyone to know what Melissa did on her last day. A garage full of plants had been collected on various trips home from the hospital and doctor. Thursday was a warm and sunny day. Anastasia had only 1 hour of school to finish the year. When she arrived home she sat her Mother outside to have her tell her where to plant everything. Anastasia finished the entire garden. It took hours. Neighbors had come over to sit and visit and admire the garden. Melissa loved the garden. The day was very warm and Melissa had an extreme amount of pain through the day. The toll of the heat and pain made her very tired and she was brought in to rest. She and Dan layed together on the couch so Dan could rub her back and relax her. She fell asleep with her head in his lap and never woke. Dan said that the last words Melissa spoke were that now she didn't mind if it rained so her flowers could bloom. We would like to think she knew at that time her job on earth was finished. Thursday night it did thunberstorm and by Friday morning Melissa's flowers stood erect, some with blooms. It has rained everyday since. We believe God gave that one sunny afternoon to our dear Melissa to finish what she wanted most.

The family has had opportunity to read the messages and would like everyone to know that the page will be down completely at the end of the month. It was Melissa to write her diary and that is done. All of her writings have been left to Anastasia to do with as she pleases at the age of 18. We have taken everything down but what Melissa wanted people to see. This had been planned for some time.

When things have eased here the family plans to write and thank the people here. At this time we have much grief to deal with and a huge loss in our hearts. We thank you for being friends and are comforted to know that others miss her also.

Thank you.

Daniel, Anastasia, John, Michael, Erle, Suzie, MaryBeth, Tony, Claire, Mittie, Harold, Mary Frances, Elaine, Eddie, Paul, Adam, Tommy, Jake, Tara, Joseph, Chris, Katy, Diane, Ann, Jean, Michelle, Donna, Janet, Jenny, Jeremy, Richard, Anthony, Christen, Matthew, Debbie, Judy, Wayne and Justin.
