SIR DUNCAN CAMPBELL,
who served as his majesty’s justice general, one of his privy counsel, and lieutenant with the shire of Argyll during the reigns of James I and James II. By the latter he was made high chancellor of Scotland, and in 1445 he was summoned to parliament by the title lord Campbell. His first wife was the lady Margaret, daughter of Robert, duke of Albany, governor of Scotland. Their children were Celestine (who died young), Archibald, and Sir Colin Campbell. Sir Archibald Campbell, 1st Duke of Argyll was baptised on 25 July 1658 in Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll and Lady Mary Stuart.1 He married Elizabeth Tollemache, daughter of Sir Lionel Tollemache, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Murray, Countess of Dysart, on 12 March 1677/78 Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He and Elizabeth Tollemache were separated many years before his death.3 He died on 25 September 1703 at age 45 in Cherton House, Newcastle, England, from the black jaundice, "in the arms of his whore".3 His will (dated 26 September 1690) was probated on 1 July 1704.3

Then she and her husband moved west, living in Jennings Kansas, Lebanon Missouri, and Canyon City Colorado.
In 1917 they returned to Edison, Ohio, 1928 to Ashley, Ohio, and 1942 to Mount Gilead. In Mount Gilead she became a member of the Presbyterian Church.
