Ethafoam
Ethafoam is a closed-cell, polyethylene foam. It is chemically inert, does not adsorb moisture, and has good thermal insulating properties. Ethafoam is a ideal material for packaging, storage, drawer liners, shelving, and box lining. It readily conforms to shapes and easy to cut to size. We are only stocking white material at this time.

Securing Wax

äSecure Wax
Ô is a blend of microcrystalline waxes with adhesive and translucent properties that are ideal for securing artifacts to their display surfaces. This quality may be helpful in minimizing damage to artifacts should sudden movement occur. Secure Wax is appropriate for securing a variety of artifact materials such as wood, glass, ceramics, stone, etc. to most any display surface.Secure Wax is easy to apply. After cleaning and drying both the object and display surface, simply pinch off a small portion of wax approximately the size of a grain of rice or small pea. Gently roll wax between your fingers into a small ball. Depending on the size and weight of the object being secured, place anywhere from 4 to 12 of these wax bits separated 1 to 2 inches apart to the bottom of the object and simply press to the display surface. Remember, although you have now decreased the chance of your object being dislodged from the mounting surface, keep in mind that not all mounting surfaces are secured equally as well. In the case of a shelf, make sure the shelf cannot become dislodged from its mounts, and most importantly, that the display itself cannot be overturned.
If it is necessary to remove the object from its display surface usually a slight twisting motion will release the adhesive bond. Precautions must be taken not to apply excessive force to an object during removal. At the time the wax bond releases, damage could occur to the object, adjacent objects or display surface (such as loose glass shelving) by accidentally coming in contact with each other. Loose glass shelving in particular will tend to lift during object removal. It is advisable to restrain the shelf from lifting. A second pair of hands could be helpful in restraining the shelfs movement at this time.
Secure Wax can be removed easily from the object or display surface by using a clean soft cloth soaked in very hot tap water or mineral spirits if needed. A dry cloth will work as well, but with greater effort, for those surfaces that should not come in contact with water.

Heat-Shrink Tubing
Polyolefin 2:1 Heat-Shrink Tubing
Our Polyolefin heat-shrink tubing works well as a padding for most rod and even flat stock used in mount making supports. Its use is not limited to just covering brass and metal, but will work just as well on wood dowels and other substrates. The tubing is made of polyolefin that does not contain flame retarding additives. When heated to 275
° F for about a minute, the tubing will shrink to approximately ½ its original size. When deciding on the best size of tubing to fit a particular job it is always best to select the tubing size closest to the diameter needed. The measurement of heat-shrink tubing is that of its inside diameter. Heat-shrink tubing works best if you dont try to shrink it more than 40% of its original size. The best way to shrink the tubing is to use a heat gun or hot air tool with a reducing tip for precise control. Never use an open flame to shrink the tubing, it will burn!Cat. Storage Systems
Giant Stacking Trays
Giant Stacking Trays are modular trays that interlock when stacked to form a solid bank of storage trays that can be customized to meet your specific filing needs. The open fronts on the trays allow easy access to contents. The trays are made of a white finished, high density high molecular weight polyethylene with steel reinforcement for extra rigid support and strength. The smooth surfaces and rounded corners protect you and your works of art from damage. They can be stacked in opposing directions for easy access from two sides. Also available is a wood-core vinyl laminate top (light oak finish) allowing the top of the stacked trays to be used as a work surface.
The smaller tray has inside (usable area) dimensions of 2" in height by 36-3/8" in width by 24-1/4" in depth. The larger tray has inside (usable area) dimensions of 2" in height by 42-1/2" in width by 32-1/2" in depth.
The trays are sold 2 per carton, tops are sold 1 per carton.
