was founded in 1964, and continues its mission to preserve and enhance
the rural beauty of the Carpinteria Valley, especially its open field
agriculture, and to maintain the charm of Carpinteria and Summerland as
small beach towns.

Venoco's Paredon Oil
Development Proposal
Venoco is proposing to build a 175-foot tall oil drilling tower in Carpinteria to slant-drill up to 35 wells under the ocean. This is a huge project that CVA is very concerned about! Lagunitas
After the City of Carpinteria approved an
excessively large project with huge traffic and air quality impacts,
CVA began the process of a referendum. This process brought the
developer to the negotiating table, and resulted in a smaller project
that has far fewer impacts and is much better for the community overall. |
