El Presidente's Proclamation
Bienvenidos Amigos!

anta Barbara's gracious historic past comes to life again during our 73rd citywide Fiesta, July 30 through Aug. 3. On behalf of the Old Spanish Days board of directors, it is my pleasure to invite you, your family and friends to come and enjoy the living history of California's oldest regional celebration.

Fiesta is five joyous days and nights of pageantry, parades, mercados, carnival and rodeo. Also entertaining and free to the public are traditional music and dance at the Old Mission, the Courthouse, a symphony concert, and our annual arts and crafts show along Santa Barbara's beautiful waterfront.

Old Spanish Days brings together all ages and segments of our community. This year's theme, "Para los Niños; For the Children," reflects our recognition of the active role that our community youth play during Fiesta. The involvement of thousands of young people helps make the celebration so special for all of us. They are the community volunteers and leaders of tomorrow who will carry on the fine traditions and special way of life unique to our beloved Santa Barbara. To them, we pay tribute and give our thanks. They truly exemplify the spirit of Fiesta!

¡Viva la Fiesta!
