The Dogs' Page
The bipeds are actually our pets, but don't tell them.
They're more fun when they're clueless, y'know...

Hi! We are Casey Marie McLain and Queen Sheba Ann the Precious, about the two most
dissimilar boxers around. Here's our description of ourselves:
Casey: I'm a beautiful 60# fawn boxer with natural ears, a broad
build, the most caring heart you can imagine and I'm way smarter than Joe. I love
to walk and run and play and explore but I'm more of the quiet, easygoing, laid back kind
of personality. I really want to make the humans happy and when they hurt, I hurt. Joe
calls me his pride and joy and I'd do anything to maintain that status. The nice thing is
that I don't have to try; it's my nature.
Sheba: I'm a hedonist. A svelte 50# reverse brindle boxer with natural
ears and a slender build but a hedonist nonetheless. Why bother learning things and
dealing with details when you can run? When Joe lets us run off-leash, Casey always likes
to sniff every blade of grass in the field. I figure, if you've seen one, you've seen 'em
all; stretch your legs and run! And I can run, too. More than anything else I
love the feel of the wind in my face as my muscles churn and my legs propel me faster and
faster into the future. I ain't real bright but I'm not so stupid that I like running into
things so I bound when we're in tall grass. Joe and Kim think it's pretty funny when I do.
Kim says I look like Tigger. (He's brindle too, isn't he? What a stud.) When we're at home
and I can't run free I like to box with Casey but she doesn't have the energy required to
keep up with me. I'm a maniac! Here lately, Casey hasn't wanted to play much so I've had
to run laps around the living room. It's not the same, though, and I wish they'd move the
furniture out and build a banked track in there. Oh, and did I mention I like to talk?
Our internal links
Stories to touch your heart
Our favorite external links
- Links to pages with training aids, treats, toys, veterinary
and other pet supplies.
- The Boxer
Mailing List. If you want to get in touch with a bunch of other
furheads and want to provide your bipeds with more and better free information than
they'll get in the books they pay for, surf on over and sign 'em up one night. And note
the expression on their faces in the morning! (This is a subliminal message: DO IT
NOW!!!)
- Boxerworld. Another good resource for learning
about boxers. This site also proudly hosts the finest boxer post office out there.
We can't recommend it enough and if you want to cheer anybody up or just send your bipeds
a friendly reminder about your upcoming birthday, this is the only place you have to go.
Really!
- Canine Underground
Railroad. Let us start by saying we appreciate the work some folks do in rescuing
pets. Other people would like to help but don't have the time or financial resources (like
our dad). If your bipeds are this way too, there's something they can do! Take a few hours
and drive a pet from point A to point B. It's amazing; some dogs get adopted by families
across the country and the dog is handed off from person to person on the way it its new
home. It's a great feeling and we highly recommend you encourage them to try it.
- The Delta Society. No, it's not a
fraternity, sorority or a cult. It's all about companion animals and, if you've ever
thought about being a therapy dog and visiting hospitals, nursing homes or the like, this
is a great place to start looking for information.
- Veterinary Pet Insurance. We did some
research after we figured out how to post our own messages to the Boxer Mailing List and
presented a strong case to dad and he signed us up. VPI is the best place we came with and
we recommend you check it out, too.
- Veterinary Medical Information. We fussed about
whether to include this one. It's a good site for looking up what the vet told your HMO
(read: biped) but we don't recommend browsing in your spare time; you'll frighten yourself
into having something you didn't know existed!
- How to Love Your Dog. If you have
any short bipeds, have them visit this site. It's especially important if the short
ones are your primary pets.
- The Reality of
Breeding Dogs. Here's one that all the bipeds who work in rescue will thank us for
including. If you think your bipeds haven't done much research or just want to breed you
for them money, make this their home page and let's hope they think again.
- The Amazing Things Dogs Eat. We like
spending time here when everybody's at work. This is one of the funniest sites out there
and you can get some great ideas on what to munch on before your bipeds
get home. It's hilarious reading the reactions some people have to our eating garage
doors, homemade candy and the short bipeds' homework. You'll like it, I'm sure.
- iGive. They'll donate money to
the American Boxer Rescue Association just by your clicking on their links. That's all
there is to it. We checked with ABRA and it is legit; they are getting the cash. We made
it our home page and click on five links every day. ABRA got almost $10 from us in January
alone. It's not difficult and a furhead somewhere will benefit - go check it out.
Feel free to send us mail; we love to type! We use our dad's e-mail address and he went
crazy when he found letters to Margaret Thatcher in his Sent Items. We explained and he
said it was okay so long as we spell check everything we send. We do and he's happy. (Like
we said, they're more fun when they're clueless...) Anyway, send us your comments; we'd love to hear from you!
