Welcome to my home page. This is the home page for Mike Rambour
Its also the home page for the North American Singer Owners Club (NASOC)
Lets see, now who am I. Well I was born in France in 1957 and lived in Algeria until 1963 and then we lived in
France until we came to the US in 1967. My interest have always been in things mechanical and I love taking things
apart ( I even put them back together sometimes ). I also am an avid sailor and I cant live without a weekly 'fix'
of going on my boat. Although lately because of working too hard I have skipped a few weeks, maybe thats why I am so grumpy lately...
In high school, I went to car show
( a concours d'elegance ) and started thinking it would be
neat to put a car together to that level of quality, so I started looking around for a sports car. I fell in love
with Morgan's and could not afford one, so I bought a 1953 Singer.
This was to be a good thing but at the time it sure didn't seem like it. I spent a huge amount of time on the car the first couple of years, and it was 7 years before it was finished. In my defense, I brought the car home in 3 truck loads and it was 3 years before I saw my first assembled Singer, and a lot of time was spent figuring out what part was what and where it fit.
This was in 1974 and a year later I joined NASOC. The first year, I struggled with my car all alone (sound familiar?) then I joined the club and at least started seeing pictures of the cars. Many years later I became the Spares Registrar and I have now been the President of NASOC for about 5 years. If
after all that I am still bored, I go play with my scooter.

During all this time, I also found time to change jobs 3 times ( I am now a computer geek for a living, but I started as a grease monkey and was a machinist for a while ) and get married ( to a really great woman ( are you reading this honey ? ) ) and have a perfect daughter and go through 4 boats. Boy, have I had a great life or what ???
