Back to Introduction- Music, Maestro Icon:
- Click on the Music, Maestro icon in the color bar at the left of each story section. If your computer has a sound card, and if your web browser supports midi music files, you will hear a specially selected piece of music to accompany the story.
Try it now. Click the eye. After a few moments you should hear Back Life, a Scott Joplin piano rag. Please be patient while the file loads, and remember to click the actual icon, rather than the text below it. If you can hear the music, you're all set. The icon will be different in each section, but you'll always find it in the same place.
- Can't Hear Music?
- If you get an error message, or don't hear any music after a few moments, your web browser may be a bit out-of-date. Netscape 3.0 and Internet Explorer 2.0 (or higher) should support midi files automatically. If you have an earlier version of Netscape, such as 2.0, you can either download a midi-player plug-in from the Netscape web site, or else simply download Netscape 3.0. Of course, you can also read the story without the music, but you'll be missing a little of the fun.
