Important: Check the date's on these pages, and try to reload if it seems old. Remember, webmasters need vacations so some of the forecasts may be in arrears. Note that some of these charts are in meters (m) - just multiply by 3 for feet (unless your from Hawaii then leave it the same and call it feet!).
Ventura Cam: Call it The Point, C-Street, Fairgrounds, Stables, Pipes, Ventura River or whatever - this camera is the hottest on the web. It pans up and down the coast, and feed your browser real time frames. It makes the best use out of an ugly concrete monstrosity, and saves me a two mile drive down Ventura Ave, to check the surf!
Temperature :Trunk it, Spring or Full Suit? Check the So. Cal. water temps at this link. Specially provided for our Cuban sympathizer - thanks Jeff!
So. Cal. Map: Courtesy of the Scripps Institute (University of California San Diego). Great for instant read out of what is happening on Southern California Coast now - simple color scale and updated approximately every 3 hours. The sensor bouy is on Harvest Platform so you can get an advance reading for Northern Hemi' swells, Southern Hemi's are a little later.
So Cal. bouys (48hr) : Nice data graphs of local bouy heights over last 48 hours.
So. Cal. Map - 3 Day Forecarst: This is good - showing some initiative the Scrips have started forecasting (with disclaimers). Seems fairly accurate to me.
World Map: From oceanweather.com - great for looking at all the storms world wide and trying to predict which will send swell your way - updated daily.
NOAA surf forecast: National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration - the Fed's version of what the surf is going to be tomorrow from Santa Barbara County to San Diego County.
Pacific Ocean 5 day animation: Great, and big, animated gif plotting the whole Pacific Ocean action for the next 5 days in 12 hour increments.
Hurricanes: Object of fear for most, object of desire for surfers - is one heading your way? Thanks for the link Bob.
Peats Surf Page: Like it say's - takes you back to this Page.
Back to the Front Page: Takes you all the way back to Peat's Home Page.
Fear not, .com-rades, this is not a paid advertisement! Merely a symbol of appreciation that goes out to Chris Samaniego who has kept me stoked, feeding my surf addiction for fifteen years with his great surfboards. Want to see a little more of Chris at work - just click here.
