Byron Berline To Perform in the Santa Ynez Valley

International bluegrass and country fiddle star Byron Berline will be featured in a special concert Friday, May 12th, at St. Marks In The Valley Episcopal Church in Los Olivos, California. The concert, which will begin at 8:00 PM in the church's Parish Hall, will present a full evening's selection of fiddle tunes and songs, accompanied by Peter Feldmann and his band, "The Very Lonesome Boys".

Byron has long been acknowledged as one of America's greatest fiddlers ever, and has performed for the past thirty years across the USA and around the world with some of this country's finest country music stars, such as Bill Monroe, Loretta Lynn, Vince Gill, Emmy Lou Harris, etc. His series of fiddle and bluegrass albums have set the pace for modern fiddle compositions and arrangements. Byron has also contributed to hundreds of commercials, TV shows, and feature films.

Currently living in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Byron has recently returned from a major tour in Germany, France, and Switzerland. The Los Olivos performance will be his only public California appearance this spring.

Tickets for the program, co-sponsored by Jensen's Music will be available at Jensen's Music stores in Santa Barbara and Solvang. All seating is general admission. Tickets are $12. advance and $15 at the door.

Byron is a three time National Fiddle champion who turned to a
musical career after earning a B.A. in Physical Education.  Originally from
Oklahoma where he began playing the fiddle at age 5, Byron lived and worked in
Los Angeles for 26 years before returning to his home state.
Byron's professional career reads like a who's who in the music business as he has
performed with or recorded with so many notables. He has led or been a member of
the following bands: Bill Monroe & Bluegrass Boys, 1966-67; Dillard &
Clark, 1969-70; Dillard Expedition, 1970-71; Country Gazette, 1971-75; Sundance,
1975-85; Berline, Crary, Hickman, 1978-90; L.A. Fiddle Band, 1978-93;
California, 1990-95, Byron Berline Band, 1996-present.
Byron is one of the most sought after session fiddlers and his long list of recording credits

enjoys producing albums for his friends and himself. His most recent activities
include his return to Oklahoma where he has opened a small fiddle shop in the
historic town of Guthrie, and the release of his highly acclaimed album, "Fiddle
& a Song"
