Gaviota Single Vehicle Rollover

AMR Paramedics and Santa Barbara County Firefighters package the patient for transportation to the hospital.
A major problem with Hwy 101 responses in the Gaviota area is the dangerous condition presented by passing vehicular traffic. Fire Engineer Jeff Schneider can be seen above watching for oncoming traffic as the patient is being prepared for transportation by the ambulance.
Note the location of the engine at the apex of the curve. Emergency orange cones were initially placed in the roadway to warn vehicles to move over to the fast lane of traffic.
A post incident review was done after the call at the fire station to go over some of the safety concerns experienced at the call.
