Summer Field Trip Travel and Base Camp Setup @ Mel Potrero Campground
July 7th and 8th
The Woolly is ready for the trip.

The first hint that traffic might be a little heavy is when the on ramp is blocked up... The second hint is when all you can see is cars, for miles and miles and miles... This is not a good sign.

and miles, and miles... But the third biggest hint is when you start to see news channels doing live remotes off the side of the highway. This also is not a very good sign.

Eventually, we found out that Interstate 5 had been totally shut down due to a large brush fire that was started by a car fire on the side of the highway.

As shown above, what starts out as a small spot along the highway can quickly jump a roadway and head straight for the grassy / flashy fuel covered hillside, becoming a major wildfire.
