First Secret: There is no North, West, South or East in Santa Barbara. Directions are to the beach or the mountains.... Go directly to the Visitor's Center near the beach and Stearns Wharf and get a free tourist map or you will get lost. Say hi to the wonderful smiling AnnaMarie.
Second Secret: To a "Local" driving over 10 minutes is a day trip.. Honking your horn means your from a big city.. Be Patient and smile alot.Third Secret: Don't mention that you are from Los Angeles, especially if you are doing business. You'll get a look of sympathy. If you see a movie star (and you will in Montecito), try not to gawk to hard. If you see Jonathan Winters, he loves to talk to people.
Fourth Secret: Relax, mellow out, smile alot. If your feeling stressed, stroll downtown, take an electric tram ride, stare at the wonderful mountains, walk on the beach or better yet take a dip in the "refreshing"ocean (winter is the best time).
