Greetings, honorable gentlefolk. I would like to introduce myself. I am Kachigatai Lord Shiro, and I am the new Isles Seneschal. Things have been rather busy here in Isles for the last few weeks, with Isles Anniversary, Mediaeval Mayfaire, Coronation, Queen's Champion, and Potrero War either having been done or coming up. For the most part, things have settled down and we can begin to relax a bit.
I would like to thank all of the people who have helped Isles with these events, but especially those people who are not from Isles. Our wonderful neighbors from Darach and Carreg Wen have been extremely helpful and I would like to offer any support that Isles can give when they need assistance.
I would like to extend an invitation to anyone who wishes to attend our meetings to do so. If there are any questions, please feel free to write me a letter, give me a phone call, or drop me a line through the Shire Web Page. I would also like to encourage the Shire to continue attending Shire meetings in garb, as we can get more people interested in the SCA if they have something visual to clue in on. I will try to get one of our meetings to be held at the Rusty's Pizza Parlor on Carrillo in downtown Santa Barbara. More on this later....until then, meetings are the first and third Thursday of each month at UCSB at the Arts Building ( Classrooms vary from meeting to meeting. ) Also, continue to bring your recyclable materials to meetings, as it will help the Shire coffers.
I would also like to congratulate those new Lords and Ladies of Isles, as of Isles 25th Anniversary. Lord Alfonso del Corazon Negro/ Kachigatai Lord Ryu..... It's been a long time coming..... Kampai !! Lord Robert Ruadh..... our Living Treasure of Isles (hee hee hee).....Congratulations on your Harp Argent, you truly deserve it for your dedication to the harp! Lady Sciath Nichuanachtaigh..... you've done so much to keep the Shire going, Congratulations! Lady Catherine ..... your service to Isles and our neighbors are an example to us all..... I am honored that you are part of the Shire of Isles, and bring such honor to the Shire. Please remember that you are an example for others to aspire to, and be sure that you continue your great work!
I thank everyone in Isles for their continued support and will endeavor to work to make Isles proud.
